Trampled By Turtles are Undercover vets, having wowed us a couple of years back with an acoustic Arcade Fire cover. This time out, the Duluth, Minnesota band took the challenge of one of this year’s toughest songs, Yes’ 1983 hit—the biggest of the long-running prog-rock band’s career—“Owner Of A Lonely Heart.” It’s a bold move from the increasingly delicate and gorgeous Turtles, whose new album Wild Animals has more in common with Band Of Horses than some of their bluegrass early roots. Make sure you stick around for the big breakdown, you won’t regret it.
