Watch Oozing Wound hate-cover Blink-182’s “Dammit”
About This Episode

Blink-182’s “Dammit” was the group’s first bonafide hit, selling millions of copies and launching the band into the hearts of fans everywhere. But when Chicago metalheads Oozing Wound picked the song off our 25-track list, it was out of spite—or, rather, under the guise of not ruining a song they actually liked. As you’ll hear in the video above, Oozing Wound strips out the sing-song melody, drops the song out of C major, and delivers a grimy, gritty, head-banging performance that’s sure to both alienate fans of the original track and tantalize metal fans.

Oozing Wound’s latest record, Whatever Forever, is out now on Thrill Jockey Records. Our interview with the group is below.
