The Wombats first peeked out of Liverpool with 2007’s fantastic, funny “Let’s Dance To Joy Division,” which celebrated the irony of moving your body to one of the more depressing bands in history. For A.V. Undercover, The Wombats celebrate another band—and with a bit of a wink, we think. On this year’s list was the participant’s choice of Goo Goo songs, either “Iris” or “Name.” The Wombats chose “Iris,” and they gave us an earnest rendition of a song they clearly find a little cheesy. The latest Wombats album, Glitterbug, is out now on Bright Antenna Records, and the band will play the ACL Festival on October 7.
