Pioneering Seattle: La Dispute pays tribute to Nirvana

Welcome back to Pioneering, our new video (and event) series. We’re happy that some of you made it out to the shoots, and here we present the next fruits of our labor: La Dispute paying tribute to Nirvana. Above you’ll find two videos—the first a sort of documentary-style discussion about the band, their influence, and the particular song that La Dispute chose to cover, “Polly.” The second video is the band’s full performance of the song, recorded live at El Corazon in Seattle—formerly Off Ramp, where many Seattle great performed over the years. And throughout you’ll find our host, Eef Barzelay, asking questions and hanging out with A.V. Clubbers. Thanks for watching, and please check out the Pioneering social hub for bonus footage and other extras. And if you’re in or near Chicago, don’t forget that we’re wrapping up Pioneering with a big, free event featuring Jukebox The Ghost and Eef Barzelay on June 5; all the info is here.
