Sinners comes out on top at the Actor Awards

Jessie Buckley is probably feeling pretty good about her Oscar odds this morning. For everyone else, though, the situation looks more complicated than it may have a month ago. It was not One Battle After Another that came out ahead at the Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards) but Sinners, which took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Michael B. Jordan also took home the award for Male Actor in a Leading Role, defeating Marty Supreme himself, Timothée Chalamet. Chalamet did win the award from the Screen Actors’ Guild last year before ultimately losing the Oscar to Adrien Brody.

The Female Actor in a Supporting Role also complicates the Oscar race, with Amy Madigan winning for her performance in Weapons, beating out the Golden Globe winner (Teyana Taylor) and the BAFTA winner (Wunmi Mosaku). Sean Penn, meanwhile, continued his winning streak from the BAFTAs, taking home the award for male supporting actor. 

On the TV side of things, The Pitt and The Studio once again showed out, including with a posthumous win for Catherine O’Hara. The entire list of winners is below.
