Bottles of white wine are popping all over America as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that, after 33 combined seasons, ABC’s reality-TV power couple The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have cast their first black lead. The lucky lady in question is Rachel Lindsay, a Texas attorney who’s currently a contestant on The Bachelor; the news was to be broken on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, except these shows tape in the afternoon, and thus, here we are. This is also the first time ABC has announced the next Bachelor/ette star while the person in question is still a contestant on another season of the show, essentially spoiling the ending for fans. Sorry about that.
