Amanda Seyfried thinks they’ll be inhabiting Jennifer’s Body again

A sequel to the 2009 cult classic starring Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox could be on the way.

Jennifer’s Body might be returning for seconds. Speaking to Bloody Disgusting on the red carpet for her new film Seven Veils, star Amanda Seyfried says she “thinks” a sequel may be on the way. “I think we’re making another one,” Seyfried said. “I didn’t confirm it! I said, ‘I think.'” Directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, Jennifer’s Body, the story of a young woman blossoming into a cannibalistic demon, bombed upon release in 2009. However, the movie has spent 15 years building a cult following. Last year, Cody told Bloody Disgusting that she’s “not done with Jennifer’s Body.”

“I just need to find…I need to partner with people who believe it in [sic] as much as I do and that hasn’t really happened yet,” she said. “I need someone to believe in it who has a billion dollars.” Cody said she spent years coming to terms with the film’s failure. “At first I just thought, oh where was this audience when I needed it and then I realized they were like…seven.”

“I was pretty humiliated to be perfectly honest with you,” she said. “It was a rough experience having that movie come out. It was rough for me, it was rough for Megan [Fox]. [But] people started suddenly talking about it like it was a good movie, which I had thought all along.”

Megan Fox have also expressed interest in resurrecting Jennifer. “I don’t think it’s a hard movie to make a sequel to,” Fox said in 2021. “I mean, they should make it into a TV series. That would be cool.”
