And now Amanda Seyfried will also play Linda Lovelace

Like so many other fairy-tale adaptations in the works, the magical journey of Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace has evolved from being the simple story you use to tuck your kids in at night into one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, with now-obligatory rival projects racing for the big screen. The dark, semen-covered horse remains Matthew Wilder’s Inferno, which rebounded after deciding that Lindsay Lohan’s reputation threatened to damage the integrity of the film by hiring Malin Akerman to come and fuck some dogs instead, with supporting actors Matt Dillon and Paz de la Huerta looking on and slurring while gently swaying, respectively. And now Inferno faces some serious competition from what’s shaping up to be the “prestige” Linda Lovelace picture that begins shooting the same month, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s Lovelace, which has just cast Amanda Seyfried as the troubled porn star and Peter Sarsgaard as her domineering husband (and accused pimp) Chuck Traynor. Seyfried and Sarsgaard replace previously attached stars Kate Hudson and James Franco—with Hudson filling in for Olivia Wilde before that—but you probably shouldn’t count them or anyone out just yet. As with all the competing versions of other archetypal stories like Snow White, someday every girl may get the chance to play Linda Lovelace.
