Arrow’s Stephen Amell to put on a mask and fight crime in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

It looks like The Arrow will be trading in his bow for a hockey stick soon, as Stephen Amell has just been cast in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Casey Jones, the turtles’ vigilante friend. That comes from Variety, which also reports that Amell’s Casey Jones will act as a (thankfully non-turtle) love interest for Megan Fox’s April O’Neil. Apparently, Amell (who plays Oliver Queen on The CW’s Arrow) had a lot of chemistry with Fox during his audition, but she might’ve just been excited to finally work with a co-star who wasn’t computer-generated or Shia LaBeouf.

As we’ve previously reported, Ninja Turtles 2 will be directed by Echo‘s David Green, and no plot details have officially been released. If it’s anything like the last Ninja Turtles sequel, though, it will probably involve some kind of ooze and the secrets related to said ooze. Also, other than Fox, the only actor from the first one who is officially returning is Will Arnett—but Johnny Knoxville and the other people who voiced the turtles seem like a safe bet.
