Brett Ratner would like you to come work for him and/or show him your tits
It often takes years of rejection, cynical compromise, and self-delusion to crush a young person’s idyllic illusions about a life in Hollywood, but now you can accomplish it all in a single weekend. Abstractly defined creative community enabling company Talenthouse has announced a competition in which aspiring artists can come and work for frequently employed director Brett Ratner in a number of capacities, soaking up all of the Ratner they can and in the process learning face-to-face exactly what sort of person tends to succeed in the industry. If you’re a wannabe graphic designer, Ratner wants you to design an animated logo for his Rat Entertainment production company. If you’re an aspiring filmmaker, Ratner asks that you submit a short for his approval, after which he’ll select a person to come and sit next to him on a shoot and, you know, probably discuss F-stops and canted angles and maybe neorealist techniques. Even acting hopefuls have a shot at becoming a “featured extra” in his upcoming film Tower Heist. You could talk to Matthew Broderick, maybe!
