Channing Tatum making the Peter Pan origin story you knew in your heart was coming
Among all the proposed dark fairy-tale re-imaginings of late, Peter Pan Begins is definitely one of them—and it comes with the bonus of starring Channing Tatum, an actor whose attachment to anything always signifies, “Hey, this is an actual movie, and watching it beats being dead.” The amorphously defined action or drama or romance star whom you may be confusing with Sam Worthington is reportedly developing the film with screenwriter Billy Ray and producer Joe Roth, who hopes to tell “the origin of Peter Pan” in much the same way as his other past and future dark fairy-tale re-imaginings, including Alice In Wonderland and the upcoming Oz The Great And Powerful and Snow White And The Huntsman. Not much else is known about the project at this point, but given the recent trend in adapting public domain classic literature, we expect to hear of at least one competing Peter Pan film within the month.
