It’s been almost a year and a half since those of us in the U.S. last heard from Ashley, Gordon, and their titular pup Colin From Accounts. Last we saw, an attempted step forward for their relationship may have turned into a step backwards, and it’s not totally clear where things stand now. It doesn’t exactly seem like the wait for the answer is almost over, but we’ve at least got confirmation that we’re moving in the right direction. Paramount confirmed today that the Australian series is officially back in production, and offered a couple of behind-the-scenes images to prove it.
“After the season 2 cliffhanger, it would be cruel not to show you all what happens next, and we can’t wait for you to see it,” say Colin From Accounts creators and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer. “Getting to make this show continues to be a total thrill for us, and we’re pumpled (pumped & humbled) that people have enjoyed the first two seasons so much. That’s what they say to our faces, anyway.”
It may still be a while before that means we get to see season 3, especially in the United States. Season 2 premiered in Australia in May of 2024 and premiered stateside the following September. Still, the season is poised to be some TV worth waiting for. “Reconciling expectations with reality is a key part of any relationship, and it’s at the core of Colin From Accounts‘ exceedingly charming second season,” wrote The A.V. Club‘s Danette Chavez in her review of the show’s second season, crediting the show with “helping the relationship comedy flourish on TV once again.” Hopefully that flourishing continues next season.
