Daisy Edgar-Jones to star in video game "romance" Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow

Gabrielle Zevin's 2022 novel was widely praised for its complex depiction of a multi-decade relationship between two video game developers.

Daisy Edgar-Jones to star in video game

Daisy Edgar-Jones has reportedly lined up her next film project, with Deadline reporting that the Twisters star and notorious Crawdad Singer is circling, with an eye toward squaring up on, a part in literary adaptation Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow. The book in question, written by Gabrielle Zevin and published in 2022, is only loosely about Shakespeare, despite the title, and is instead a sort of long-form exploration of a complicated relationship within the world of video game development.

If she signs on to the project, Edgar-Jones will presumably star as protagonist Sadie, a young woman who Levin’s narrative shows eventually thriving in the video game industry in the 1990s and 2000s, despite being surrounded by an absolute Murderer’s Row of toxic dudes. That most assuredly includes the book’s other main character, Sam, Sadie’s best friend and business partner, who spends the decades they work together alternating between pining for her, supporting her, and occasionally actively getting in her way. Zevin’s book was a critical and commercial hit when it landed in 2022, and has been a book club pick from Amazon, Apple, and more. No word yet on who’ll be co-starring as Sam, but CODA director Siân Heder is set to helm the film, with a script co-written by Zevin and screenwriter Mark Bomback.

As for Edgar-Jones, she’s kept a somewhat low profile since Twisters, despite having been incredibly busy behind the scenes: IMDB lists her as starring in at least three projects currently in post-production, including Chloe Domont’s A Place In Hell, Denzel Washington’s Here Comes The Flood, and Georgia Oakley’s upcoming adaptation of Sense And Sensibility.
