Dexter is going to start wrapping things up pretty soon, really
Sensing that Showtime’s recent renewal of Dexter for two more seasons had prompted a collective, balloon-slowly-deflating sigh from fans, network president David Nevins immediately turned around and let everyone know that those seasons would “likely” be the end, is that satisfactory, whiners? Though, as is always the case with Showtime series, a show will start to think about maybe wrapping things up and saying goodbye, and then Showtime will start crying and threatening to kill itself, and that’s how Weeds is still on the air. But today Nevins offered an even more defensive, slightly more definitive statement on Dexter’s end, telling Entertainment Weekly that not only is the entire creative team currently operating under the assumption that the show will wrap up by season eight, “There’s things that are going to happen [this season] that will set up a very clear endgame that will take two seasons to tell.”
