Doctor Who gets a new writer and a returning character
Peter Capaldi’s time-traveling space wizard is getting a new companion on the next season of Doctor Who, but at least one familiar face will be stopping by—or should that be a familiar head? Either way, The Daily Dot is reporting that British comedian Matt Lucas will be returning to the series as Nardole, a character who first popped up in the 2015 Christmas special “The Husbands Of River Song.” Nardole was an employee of Alex Kingston’s Song, and over the course of the story, he had his head torn off of his body and stolen by a renegade robot. He, along with another severed head, regained control of the robot by the end of the episode, but it’s unclear what form Nardole will take when he returns to Doctor Who in its 10th season.
