We’re pleased to announce that Monica Castillo has joined The A.V. Club as our new Film Critic. Monica is a veteran journalist with 15 years of experience, including contributing to The New York Times, TheWrap, NPR, The Boston Globe, Paste Magazine, and RogerEbert.com. She has also worked in broadcast radio as an arts and culture reporter, an associate curator at the Paley Center For Media, and most recently, as a film programming consultant at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Monica has shown great versatility and verve throughout her career, and we know she’s going to fit right in here (though we haven’t had a chance to ask her which Mad Men character she’d be). Please join us in welcoming her, and look for her byline later this week and in the weeks, months, and years to come.
