Fulfilling its destiny, the Rushmore soundtrack is coming out on vinyl

Get ready to sell off that Chad & Jeremy record you bought just for “A Summer Song”—the Rushmore soundtrack is finally coming out as an LP. This will be the record’s first ever vinyl pressing, something that seems a little silly considering the soundtrack to another, lesser Wes Anderson project, The Darjeeling Limited, is already out on vinyl. The news of the Rushmore release comes courtesy of web store Elusive Disc, which already has a pre-order page up for the record. Supposedly out July 10, the Rushmore LP will retail for $24.99 and include 20 tracks, including The Faces’ “Ooh La La,” John Lennon’s “Oh Yoko!,” and “Edward Appleby (In Memoriam).”
