HBO went ahead and gave Game Of Thrones two more seasons
Allowing us all a two-year respite before we again have to pretend to wonder whether HBO will renew its massive hit series Game Of Thrones, the network has gone ahead and picked up the show for two more seasons. The decision is, as always, an obvious one: The fourth-season premiere brought HBO its highest ratings numbers since the series finale of The Sopranos, all those mooching friends you gave your passwords to crashed HBO Go with their eagerness, and TorrentFreak reported that, once again, the episode was illegally shared by millions of people, easily besting other hit torrents like Loving Teenagers With Sodomy 2 [DVDRip]—itself a chapter in an epic, ongoing saga. Also, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss recently signed on through a sixth season, making the confirmation of that season’s existence just a formality. Still, there’s always the possibility that HBO is giving Game Of Thrones this early two-season pickup to lull it into a false sense of security. And that’s when the knife goes in.
