Industry has gained lots of momentum over the course of its first three seasons to become appointment viewing, and it sounds like the trend will continue. “This season does feel different, but in an exciting way,” star Marisa Abela teases in a new interview with The Guardian. “People responded to Industry spreading its wings in season three and having greater ambitions. And I think that’s even more true of season four. It still feels like Industry, but it also feels like the most high-camp, crazy villain origin story of all time.”
One major difference is that star Harry Lawtey won’t be around for the next installment after his character took a job in California. “We all started out together, and we’ve had each other’s backs in a big way—we’re such a family,” Abela says. “But I respect the fact that when [Industry creators] Mickey [Down] and Konrad [Kay] make a move in the show, they stick by it.”
Down and Kay’s next move: to bring in a brand new cast. While main cast members Abela, Ken Leung, and Myha’la are all returning (as are third season additions Kit Harrington and Sarah Goldberg), Industry has recruited many new faces for the fourth season (via TVLine). That includes Kal Penn as Jay Jonah Atterbury, CEO and co-founder of payment processor Tender; Max Minghella as Whitney Halberstram, the CFO and other co-founder of Tender; Kiernan Shipka as Haley Clay, an executive assistant at payment processor Tender; Stranger Things‘ Charlie Heaton as Jim Dycker, a finance journalist; and Claire Forlani (NCIS: Los Angeles) as Cordelia Hanani-Spyrka, a corporate PR heavy-hitter; Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso) as Kwabena Bannerman, a trader at Mostyn Asset Management; Jack Farthing (Poldark) as Edward Smith, a troublemaker and long-time friend of Harington’s character Henry; and Amy James-Kelly (Coronation Street) as Jennifer Bevan, the newly promoted Minister in the Labour government. Per Abela, the season is in production now, so Industry fans will become acquainted with all these new personalities soon enough.
