Janelle Monáe stops playing, finally announces Dirty Computer tour
As the April 27 release date for Janelle Monáe’s third studio LP, Dirty Computer, draws nearer, the Atlanta-based multi-hyphenate has announced an extensive U.S. tour to support the album. The 27-date run kicks off June 11 in Seattle and wraps nearly two months later in the singer’s adopted hometown. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Wednesday, May 2 at LiveNation.com.
The news follows the release of four eclectic singles from the album so far, each with a meticulous, often provocative video attached (vagina pants, anyone?). Along with today’s tour news, Monáe premiered the video for previously released single “I Like That.”
