According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Connelly has joined the cast of James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez’s long-in-the-works manga adaptation Alita: Battle Angel. The movie stars Rosa Salazar as the eponymous battle angel, a female cyborg with no memories who becomes a bounty hunter. Connelly will be playing a villain alongside fellow baddie Ed Skrein, but the THR story doesn’t have any other details about her character.
Alita: Battle Angel will also feature Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali, X-Men: Apocalypse‘s Lana Condor, and Jackie Earle Haley. The film is in production now and is penciled in for release on July 20, 2018.
