Killer Croc
Who he is: Killer Croc, a.k.a. Waylon Jones
His power: Jones was born with a regressive atavistic condition that turns his flesh scaly and distorts his features, giving him a reptilian appearance and skin that’s impervious to many forms of abrasion, including bullets fired from sufficient distance. He has enhanced strength, smell, and speed. Not too bright, though.
His story: In the first act of Suicide Squad, Croc is given a brief backstory, in which it’s explained the character used to live in Gotham and had fought Batman. Additionally, Jones was eventually driven to cannibalism at the hands of those who abused him for his appearance. Before he joins Task Force X, he’s languishing in prison at Belle Reve, where they keep him in what’s essentially a small section of a sewer tunnel. He helps the team fight its way to Enchantress, even singlehandedly planting a bomb underneath the villains, which detonates and takes out Incubus. At film’s end, he’s been rewarded with a jail cell upgrade, including a TV and drinks.
Played by: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
Currently, Killer Croc is: Back in prison.
Where will we see him next? The inevitable Suicide Squad sequel is the most likely place.
