Bad news for Mondays and lasagna trays, Garfield is returning to television. Per Deadline, a 2-D (!!!) animated Garfield series is heading to Paramount+ sans Chris Pratt, who famously voiced the perpetually hungry feline in 2024’s The Garfield Movie (Not to be confused with 2004’s Garfield: The Movie). Though some fans have grown accustomed to Pratt’s dulcet tones torturing his owner, Jon Arbuckle, they will have a new kitty to kick around: Emmy-winner Lamorne Morris. However, there has been no word on who will voice Jon, Odie, or Nermal, so maybe Pratt can still get in there. Similarly, there has been no announcement regarding Garfield’s friend, the barnyard animals from U.S. Acres. The latest Garfield show arrives after seven years of development, offset by multiple mergers, acquisitions, and general antitrust chicanery that have become a hallmark of Hollywood’s flop era.
