Listen to “Yet,” a song from Bloom’s upcoming album

Tennessee’s Bloom can be considered the brainchild of Luke Granered, but the band’s upcoming full-length on Broken Circles, Thousand Yard Stare, does plenty to dispel any notion that it’s solely a one-man band. “Yet” opens with acoustic fingerpicking that recalls Owen’s finest moments before bursting open into propulsive choruses that display Granered’s Pedro The Lion influences while retaining a lighthearted touch. Thousand Yard Stare will be released through Broken Circles on May 20, but pre-orders for the album also include a 10-song acoustic covers album, which features takes on hits from such ‘90s hit-makers as Natalie Imbruglia and Sixpence None The Richer.
