Though D23 was slight on TV announcements, there's apparently more to Disney's vision.

Marvel reportedly still planning a bunch of Disney+ shows

D23 came and went with little to say about the MCU’s TV ventures. Aside from VisionQuest, Kevin Feige was mum on the prospect of more TV shows that in recent years have amounted to little more than pre-crossover movie homework. Ahead of the fan convention, Disney canceled the briefly renewed Wonder Man series, which bolstered the belief that Disney would finally start examining the less-is-more protocol for its superhero TV shows, despite the bad optics. After the glut of forgettable titles from the last few years, including Secret Invasion, Echo, and Ironheart, it would make sense to step back and examine what Marvel is even doing here. The only show that’s been given another season, Daredevil: Born Again, received passable reviews. But for a show fans have been clamoring for ever since Netflix wrapped its Marvel slate in 2018, Daredevil never broke containment in a way that translated to new subscribers. Nevertheless, per Puck, Marvel is still gearing up for more limited series to introduce viewers to Nova and the X-Men.

It makes certain sense that Feige would leave out his post-Doomsday slate from the D23 presentation. After all, why announce Rich Rider might be showing up in the next Avengers adventure before the movie? Surely, they’re hoping Nova’s entry through the portal will elicit the same pandemonium as Endgame‘s cameo-loaded finale back in 2019. (Today, those reaction videos appear to be from another Earth.) Doomsday also has to wipe the slate on all of Fox’s X-Men and reintroduce all its freshly cast mutants. Surely, after Doomsday bows this December, a host of shows will fill in the gaps of 2027’s Secret Warswritten-on-the-fly screenplay. All is to say, those hoping for a more streamlined MCU, which could make it easier to go to the movies without playing weeks of catch-up on mediocre, over-budgeted TV excursions, should probably make theirs DC for now. There’s still some time to squeeze all of Peacemaker in before Gorilla Grodd arrives in Metropolis. Even better, Warner Bros. already took Waller and Paradise Lost off the board
