Mitch Hurwitz revived after three long weeks of not promising new Arrested Development movie or TV episodes

It’s been exactly three weeks since the last update on the future of Arrested Development—a time period in which the show and everyone involved with it has grown wan and withered, drained of the vaguely defined fan anticipation that is their only sustenance now. So fortunately, Rolling Stone cradled the ashen husk of creator Mitch Hurwitz and, by prodding him for more the most minor and nonspecific of details, breathed new life into him. “I'm working on the movie right now. I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off,” Hurwitz coughed, reminding everyone that there’s still the obstruction of 20th Century Fox having to sign off on it, as well as the hardened lump of mucus that’s formed in his throat after 21 whole days of not talking cautiously about Arrested Development’s indefinite future.

Having cleared the latter for now, the reinvigorated Hurwitz shook off his molted three-week carapace and—after feeling a hot surge of new blood that spurred him to compare the mixed reception of Arrested Development’s fourth season to Radiohead’s Kid A and The Godfather Part II—proclaimed that not only is he writing the movie, his “ultimate goal is to make an Arrested Development movie and then another season of the show.” Of course, despite Hurwitz’s confidence that they will someday make not only the movie, but then another season as well, and that “everybody seems into it,” he remains ever-aware that nothing is definite, besides the fact that fans will continue to greet every one of these hazy pronouncements with the unquestioning eagerness he now feeds on to live.

“I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it's happening and not play with people,” a sated and rosy Hurwitz said, rubbing a belly newly swollen with delicious expectation.
