In the annals of punk-rock history, Chicago has no bigger representative than Naked Raygun, whose melodic, anthemic sound made the band one of the most important underground punk outfits of the '80s. Raygun called it quits in 1992, but the group's final line-up—vocalist Jeff Pezzati, guitarist Bill Stephens, bassist Pierre Kezdy, and drummer Eric Spicer—reunited in 2006 for Riot Fest in Chicago and decided to make the reunion permanent.
Now comes word today that Naked Raygun will record new music for a series of 7-inch records, then begin work on a new album, its first since 1990's Raygun…Naked Raygun. The series will begin this fall (via Riot Fest Records), as the band makes another headlining appearance at Riot Fest and returns to the East Coast for its first tour in 20 years. It's a quick one, so East Coasters should plan ahead if they're interested:
