Netflix has canceled Sense8
Just yesterday, we reported that Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has indicated that he’d like his streaming service to start cancelling more shows to make room for riskier projects. That statement came just after Netflix canceled Baz Luhrmann’s wildly expensive hip-hop history series The Get Down, and it looks like Hastings really wasn’t kidding about giving more shows the axe. According to Buzzfeed’s Jarett Wieselman, Netflix has just officially canceled Sense8 as well:
Netflix released a statement highlighting the fact that the show was “bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable.” The series was created by Lilly and Lana Wachowski with J. Michael Straczynski, and it concerned a group of otherwise unrelated people with a mental and emotional connection that allowed them to communicate with each other. The second—and now final—season just premiered in early May.
