NYC theater to offer baby-friendly screening of Nymphomaniac
Do you often find yourself telling friends and family, “Look, just because I’m a parent doesn’t mean I no longer enjoy depressing, sexually explicit European arthouse films”? If so, then hopefully you live in New York City because that’s where the Landmark Sunshine Cinema is offering the anti-Oogieloves: a special lunchtime “Rattle & Reel” screening of Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac Volume 1.
The prudish may find the idea of exposing babies to assorted celebrity genitalia distasteful, but the world is a blur of colors and sounds to infants for their first few months of life so it’s probably fine. Plus, attendees now have the delicious pleasure of explaining to their hopelessly puritanical peers that something like this really wouldn’t be a big deal in France. It’s a win-win.
