Overachieving Green Day will release three new albums in four months
It’s been three years since Green Day’s last studio album, but between the live CD/DVD, the stage musical adaptation of American Idiot and its planned movie version, and Billie Joe Armstrong’s guest appearance as an ill-fated crackhead on last Sunday’s season premiere of Nurse Jackie, we wouldn’t call them shirkers. Apparently, though, they believe in making up for lost time anyway, and have announced plans for an upcoming triple release: Not a three-disc set, but a trilogy of albums titled, respectively, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! The scheduled release dates are September 25, November 13, and January 15, just in time for people looking for the perfect back-to-school gift, something to listen to during the trip home for Thanksgiving, and Christmas presents for fans who had an accident in early December and were in a coma during the holidays.
