With Penguin on ice, HBO is developing new show from its creator

Colin Farrell has made his displeasure known. No amount of fish or colorfully themed umbrellas are getting the Oscar-winner back into Oz Cobb’s heavy prosthetics. But HBO isn’t out of the Penguin business entirely, and would likely get back in once they figure out just how many fish Farrell requires. Per Variety, HBO will continue working with the Iceberg Lounge by proxy. HBO is developing a new series called Imposter, executive produced by Penguin creator Lauren LeFranc and created by Kalos Chu, a relative newcomer, in that he’s a recent Harvard grad whose most prestigious credit is an internship at Lucasfilm. LeFranc, who also worked on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Chuck, signed an overall deal with the Home Box Office last year. Little is known about the new series aside from HBO’s “significant interest” in getting it off the market this August. However, Variety reports Imposter “follows an outsider entering his freshman year at an elite university.” On the one hand, sure, you could describe any incoming freshman as “an outsider.” On the other, we have been told by the title of the series that this particular incoming frosh is a bit of an imposter.
