Red Faction Guerrilla Is Getting Re-Mars-tered

It appears that it is time to get our collective asses back to Mars once again, as THQ Nordic announced Thursday that the release of a remastered edition of their open-world Mars shooter Red Faction Guerrilla is on its way this year. Deemed the “Re-Mars-tered” edition, the game will receive graphical updates, allowing it to take advantage of the powerful Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro systems’ 4K support.

Red Faction Guerrilla, originally released in 2009, was the third game in the Red Faction series and garnered praise for the improvements in gunplay while offering the best iteration of the destructible environment tech that put the series on the map. It was also the last game in the series released to a positive reception. The series has laid dormant since 2011, but a successful reintroduction of Red Faction Guerrilla could mean a proper return to the red planet.
