According to Variety, Ridely Scott will direct a forthcoming prequel to Alien, the iconic, deathless sci-fi franchise he kicked off with his 1979 sci-fi classic. Sci-fi specialist Jon Spaihts will write the screenplay after hooking in both Scott and Fox with his pitch.
