Robert Pollard salutes the new year in an exclusive track from Indie For The Holidays

Thanksgiving is next week, which means that according to the pop-cultural calendar it’s past time to start celebrating what Disney would really prefer to be called “the week after Star Wars.” Even ex-Guided By Voices frontman Robert Pollard is feeling festive—albeit in his own, eccentric Robert Pollard way—and has composed an ode to home-cooked meals, old Christmas cards, and new beginnings in a new song, “What Begins On New Year’s Day.”

The intimate recording is one of more than 25 on the upcoming playlist Indie For The Holidays, which debuts November 20. The playlist will be available exclusively to stream on Prime Music or purchase on Amazon Music, and features original songs and new renditions of holiday standards from Pollard, Rogue Wave, Yacht, Anna von Hausswolff, Ivan & Alyosha, SOAK, Langhorne Slim, and more.
