Someone turned Tim Allen’s grunts into beautiful music
Few sounds are as malleable as Tim Allen’s signature grunt, which can express masculinity, approval, anger, and confusion with just minor shifts in pitch and tone. Perhaps it’s that innate musicality (or maybe the time a guy replaced every sound file in Doom with the grunt) that inspired YouTube user sp00nix to sample the grunt onto each key of his Casio SK-1 keyboard.
Set to a simple beat, the cacophony of grunts that then emerge create a piece of music that’s undoubtedly horrifying, but also a representation of the grunt’s versatility. Each note conveys a complex emotion, thus negating the need for a sentient Tim Allen at all.
Calling it now: a Home Improvement reboot starring this keyboard.
