Latest The Jinx—Part Two trailer takes us into Robert Durst’s last murder trial
The Jinx—Part Two, premiering on HBO on April 21, follows Robert Durst on trial for the murder of his best friend Susan Berman

The Jinx—Part Two, premiering April 21 on HBO, is uniquely positioned within the world of true crime because the docuseries itself became part of the story. Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen it (and if so, go watch now! It’s just as engrossing years later!), but Robert Durst was arrested for the murder of his best friend Susan Berman just hours before the airing of the original series’ final episode, in which he was caught on a hot mic muttering that he “killed them all, of course.” Incredibly, it was Durst himself who offered to tell his story to filmmaker Andrew Jarecki after seeing Jarecki’s movie All Good Things, which was loosely based on Durst and the murder of his first wife, Kathie.
The Jinx team’s discovery of a crucial piece of evidence (an envelope with a particular misspelling of “Beverley Hills”) over the course of making the original series led to Durst’s indictment for Berman’s murder. In a new trailer for Part Two, Journalist Charles Bagli reveals, “As The Jinx aired, Bob and I spoke after every episode. He was very nervous. And I thought to myself, ‘He’s gonna run.’” Jarecki kept the cameras rolling through his conviction, and the trailer promises more eyebrow-raising moments like Durst warning someone that the DA will be calling, “but you don’t tell them shit.”
Per the HBO synopsis, The Jinx—Part Two uncovers new information as the trial unfolds (Durst was eventually convicted and died in 2022). “The series brings to light material including interviews with Durst associates who had never before come forward, phone calls Durst made from jail to his friends, family, and lawyers, and video footage from the interrogation room where prosecutors interviewed him after his arrest,” the network states. “The series also features candid interviews with both prosecution and defense lawyers, as well as interviews with jurors and the trial judge.”
