The kids on Riverdale are going to start taking education more seriously next season

For all of the great things about Riverdale, one aspect that it has not been particularly concerned with lately is offering a realistic portrayal of the high school experience. That could be because nobody really goes into Riverdale hoping for that sort of thing, but either way, the show is going to start dedicating a lot more time to school in its upcoming third season.
That reveal was dropped during the show’s Comic-Con panel today, during which Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa noted that the next season will see the character’s entering their junior year, so like with real life, everybody is going to start thinking about college. “We’re going to try to infuse this season with a lot more high school stuff,” Aguirre-Sacasa notes, adding, “We’re going to talk about SATs, applying to colleges, advisers, extracurriculars, etc.”
