The Transformers writers room may have already been dismantled
Before the release of Transformers: The Last Knight, Paramount and Hasbro kind of made a big deal about the writers room they had assembled to plan out the future of the Transformers series. Led by Akiva Goldsman, the group included Steven DeKnight, Robert Kirkman, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Lindsey Beer, and Christina Hodson (all of whom have worked on big-name genre projects and/or created a very popular comic book series that is now one of the biggest shows on TV), and together they came up with the concept for the Bumblebee spinoff and—if you trust Michael Bay—14 potential sequels and spinoffs that would take place within the Transformers universe.
