Léa Seydoux's identity crisis fuels the first trailer for The Unknown

As far as body-swap movies go, the new identity crisis from Anatomy Of A Fall‘s Oscar-winning co-writer Arthur Harari, The Unknown, is no Freakier Friday. Based on the comic The Case Of David Zimmerman, co-written by Harari and his brother Lucas, The Unknown premiered at Cannes earlier this year, introducing audiences to Léa Seydoux in the throes of an existential breakdown, spurred by an anonymous hook-up that trapped her in another’s body. Seydoux plays Eva and a man named David Zimmerman (also played by Niel Schneider), who spends the film trying to convince others and herself that she is who she says he is. It’s certainly a twist on the typically cheery genre. Instead of the Vice Versa formula of children swapping bodies with their parents, Harari turns things toward the profound cosmic terror of The Hot Chick. And as if to make things a bit nuttier, the film also stars lunatic director Radu Jade.
