Werner Herzog laments the internet in the Lo And Behold, Reveries Of The Connected World trailer

It’s a well-known fact that prominent German film director/poster child for existential despair Werner Herzog hates the jungle. He hates how cruel and rotten and teeming with violence it is, as he rather eloquently elaborates in Les Blank’s acclaimed 1982 documentary Burden Of Dreams. But does he like the internet—basically the opposite of the jungle—any better? (The internet certainly likes him.) That question will (presumably) be answered in Herzog’s new documentary, Lo And Behold, Reveries Of The Connected World. In true Herzogian style, trailer seems to take a simultaneously curious and grim view of the digital revolution, positing it as an unprecedented opportunity for humanity to come together—and fall apart.
