Whoopi Goldberg addresses her mention in Epstein files on The View

There are a ton of famous people mentioned in the Epstein Files. You have someone like Donald Trump, who was mentioned about 38,000 times, according to The New York Times‘ analysis of the documents. There are also a decent number of Trump critics mentioned in them, albeit less frequently and in different capacities. One such person is Whoopi Goldberg, who decided to address the association head-on during a taping of The View yesterday.

“In the name of transparency… my name is in the files,” said Goldberg (via HuffPost). “What does it say, it says, ‘Whoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco, John Lennon’s charity—it should say Julian Lennon’s charity—is paying for it. They don’t want to charter so they’re looking for private owners. Here’s the info.’ And they give all the information and they’re saying, ‘Do you want to offer your G2?'” Co-host Sunny Hostin interjected, “It looks like they said ‘no thanks.'” Based on the document, it does look like Jeffrey Epstein did decline to offer Goldberg his plane. (Though he wrote “no thnaks.”) Added Joy Behar, “In other words, anybody can be on this list.”

“This is my point,” continues Goldberg. “Because when I tell you, people are trying to turn me into… I wasn’t his girlfriend, I wasn’t his friend. I was not only too old, but it was at a time where this is just not… you used to have to have facts before you said stuff. I’m getting dragged! People actually believe that I was with him. It’s like honey, come on. Every man that I’ve ever been with, you’ve known about him because either the Enquirer wrote about it. People wrote about this stuff, and no, I didn’t get on the plane.” She also cited her documented fear of flying.

Goldberg’s name does appear in other documents in the files, but they seem to be part of various lists of famous people. Jon Stewart was similarly mentioned in the files after Epstein suggested he narrate a documentary about Woody Allen, which doesn’t seem to have ever gone anywhere.
