Worship the “Blood Moon” with a video from Sweet John Bloom
Though its name carries the implication that it’d be a folky solo project, Sweet John Bloom’s pedigree quickly dispels that notion. Featuring members of Daniel Striped Tiger and Four Eyes, Sweet John Bloom is far noisier than its name implies. In May, Tiny Engines will release the band’s debut full-length, Weird Prayer, and The A.V. Club is premiering the video for the album’s first song, “Blood Moon.” The song’s title invokes LSD-drenched spirituality, which is something that fits the band well. With hooky riffs caked in distortion, “Blood Moon” is a song that makes even the staunchest skeptic believe in Sweet John Bloom’s mysticism.
Pre-orders for Weird Prayer will be available soon through Tiny Engine’s store, and Sweet John Bloom’s tour dates are below.
