A bunch of famous people celebrate Richard Linklater in this trailer for 21 Years
Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
Generally, someone has to be dead before they get a congratulatory documentary made about their life, but Boyhood was a big hit and Richard Linklater is pretty hot right now, so we’ll let him have this one. Besides, it’s not like he was involved in the creation of 21 Years: Richard Linklater, the new documentary about him and the influence he has had on actors and other filmmakers. Directed by Michael Dunaway and Tara Wood, the film features interviews with a bunch of famous people who have worked with Linklater—or just think he’s a cool guy—including Kevin Smith, Keanu Reeves, Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey, and Linklater’s muse himself, Ethan Hawke. Given the title, we assume the documentary was filmed in real time by sticking a camera in front of all of these people for the entirety of Linklater’s career. You know, like that movie he did.
