“We are all hormonal,” Samir (Malik Elassal) screams out in the newly released trailer for Adults season two, and truer words haven’t been spoken. The two-minute footage confirms that when FX’s comedy returns later this month, its so-called adults haven’t done too much growing up and are just as goofy as ever—what a relief.
The series, co-created by former The Tonight Show writers Rebecca Shaw and Ben Kronengold, debuted last year and ended up as a very promising hangout sitcom. It centers on five co-dependent twentysomethings who reside in Queens, New York City, and try to figure out how to maturely navigate their friendships, romances, and careers.
The trailer reveals plenty of storylines, including Issa’s (Amita Rao) journey to freeze her eggs, Samir and Paul Baker’s (Jack Innanen) decision to donate their sperm, and Billie’s (Lucy Freyer) desire to retain her youth by, what else, going clubbing and having fake sex with a guy (played by Stranger Things‘ Gaten Matarazzo) in the bathroom. Anton (Owen Thiele) complains about how romantic relationships tend to consume him. But what does that mean for the will-they/won’t-they between him and Paul Baker? As a reminder, season one ended with both of them getting married for green card purposes. And what will Paul Baker’s girlfriend, Issa, have to say about all of this?
Season two’s guest stars include Zosia Mamet, Raven Symone, Ben Marshall, Susie Essman, and Jake Shane. All eight episodes will be released August 27 on Hulu, with two episodes airing weekly on FXX. Adults‘ standalone prequel episode, which released in July, is also available to stream. You can watch the season two trailer below:
