South By Southwest, the Austin-based festival that combines music, film, and technology, will celebrate its 27th year next March. This morning, SXSW released a preliminary list of invited acts scheduled to perform during the weeklong music festival taking place March 12-17.
Highlights from the very long list include: the Mercury Prize winning Alt-J, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Klaxons, Akron/Family, Brendan Benson, Marnie Stern, Why?, Ezra Furman, Turbo Fruits, Shakey Graves, Mac DeMarco, Pacific Air, Civil Twilight, Haim, The Rocketboys, and even The Zombies.
