Hype can be especially lethal when it’s applied to horror movies, but now that three separate members of the A.V. Club staff have all seen (and really liked) Hereditary, we feel confident when we say: This movie is going to fuck you up. Not only is it artfully shot and wonderfully acted, the story contains some primal, upsetting themes that resonate on a much deeper level than your average jump scare.
But don’t take our word for it: We’re giving away tickets for advance screenings of Hereditary in (deep breath) Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
