Amy Winehouse's comeback tour going about as well as you'd expect
Somehow Amy Winehouse’s one week in rehab was not the life-changing fresh start you may have expected. The soul slurrer’s much-vaunted, long-delayed “comeback” tour has already had some of its dates canceled, a decision made in the wake of a Serbian kick-off show that has been deemed “the worst in the history of Belgrade,” a city that knows a thing or two about bombing. According to numerous reports, Winehouse stumbled to the stage nearly an hour late to perform a set marked by forgotten lyrics (despite reading them from a teleprompter), mumbled words, and frequent disappearances as she dropped the microphone and simply wandered off while her band kept playing.
In the wake of the show, her management immediately called off her upcoming dates in Istanbul and Athens, issuing a statement that reads, “Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home.” They optimistically claim that the tour will resume on July 8. In the meantime, you can get some idea on how Belgrade went from the below video, then buy your tickets accordingly.
