An argument for Ant-Man’s importance that, for once, has nothing to do with Thanos’ ass

Since his appearance at the end of the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame, Marvel’s been hinting that Scott Lang could play a pivotal role in the coming battle against Thanos. Some fans took this as confirmation that Ant-Man will definitely crawl up inside Thanos’ butt and grow super big, blowing him up from the inside (please, dear God, let it be that). The Marvel junkies over at Screenrant, however, recently outlined a different and, frankly, more plausible theory as to what Ant-Man will get up to in Endgame. As many have likely already guessed, this theory involves time travel, getting real small, and a venture into the nebulous quantum realm.

Following the snap at the end of Infinity War, Scott Lang is left stranded in the quantum realm with seemingly no way to return to the normal-sized world. He does, however, appear normal-sized in the trailers for Endgame, leading many to believe that Ant-Man could very well use the time vortexes in the quantum realm to escape and, perhaps, return our core group of heroes to a non-ash state of existence. Adding fuel to the theoretical fire: One trailer found the main Avengers crew walking towards some unseen ship in slick, white jumpsuits that appear to be modeled after the quantum realm suit of Ant-Man’s Hank Pym.

When in time the Avengers will choose to go and what exactly they’ll do when they get there remains to be seen. We’re just glad someone like Ant-Man will be there to lighten the mood a little bit, and potentially blow up one big, purple ass.
