The Office‘s Michael Scott and his merry gang of Dunder Mifflin employees have done some strange things in their bullpen, from Dwight starting a fire to Michael’s big proposal to Holly. So it’s not surprising that the spin-off, The Paper, follows suit. In the newly released season two trailer, for example, managing editor Esmerelda Grand (Sabrina Impacciatore) is having a full-on grooming session at her desk because why get a Brazilian wax done at a salon when the Toledo Truth Teller’s office exists?
Peacock’s sitcom, co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, sees the same documentary crew that filmed Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton crew now set their sights on a small-scale Ohio newspaper whose staff is trying to make their profession feel relevant again. (Good luck to them!) Most of their motivation comes from the new editor-in-chief, Ned (Domhnall Gleeson), who is determined to revive TTT’s reputation. He has a long way to go because the local reporters need to work on their skills, but at least he already has a budding relationship with ace journalist Mare Pritti (Chelsea Frei).
