Apple Arcade Gets Four New Games in August, Including Play-Doh, Worms, and More

Also on deck is a new entry in the popular Worms series. Team17’s Worms Across Worlds brings its cartoonish take on military tactics to your phone, with a lengthy campaign featuring over 100 missions and playable either solo or in co-op mode. It also has local multiplayer, where you can play with or against friends. 

Next up is Let’s Go Mightycat from Ponos Corporation. This 3D puzzler stars Mightycat from the game The Battle Cats, but instead of tower defense it’s all about hurtling Mightycat into different structures in order to break them down. It sounds and looks like a third-person take on Angry Birds.

Finally there’s Everybody Shogi from AltPlus Inc. This bright, colorful, cartoony take on the classic Japanese board game (you’ve probably seen it called “Japanese chess” before) promises to be friendly to new shogi players but deep enough to appeal to masters. It’s also constructed in a way that will gradually teach shogi strategy to players as part of in-game puzzles. You can play locally or online, and customize your deck, so it seems like there’s a lot of options to this one.

All four games will be available for Apple Arcade on Thursday, August 7. An Apple Arcade subscription costs $6.99 a month, or $49.99 for a year, and provides access to a library of over 200 games for your iOS device.
